Jason (17) and Ben Strickland (19) both ran the St. Jude Marathon in 3:15:50 on December 1, 2007. The brothers had made a pact to finish together if they were together at Mile 20. This 7:29/mile average pace earned them second and third place awards in the Male 16-19 age group. There were 1961 finishers in the race. Mark Gardner (37) of Columbia also completed this race in 3:50:34, a pace of 8:48/mile.
Jason and Ben are both former Central High School cross country team runners. Jason just recently finished his last season there.
